How to use

1. Take a sample 30 cm below the water surface, away from the jets.
2. Take one strip from the tub and reseal the tub straight away.
3. Dip the strip in the tub water for 1 second; do not shake it.
4. Hold the strip pad-side up for 15 seconds.
5. Match each pad against the colour chart on the side of the tub.
6. Log the readings and act on any out-of-band values.

How many strips per tub?

50 strips per standard tub; 100-strip tubs are also available.

Will it read bromine?

Yes, via DPD cross-reactivity; multiply the chlorine reading by 2.25 for bromine.

How accurate is it?

Within 0.2 of a unit on pH, within 1 ppm on sanitiser, and within 20 ppm on TA and hardness.

What pack sizes are there?

50 and 100 strip tubs.

3-in-1 or 6-in-1?

Use 3-in-1 daily for sanitiser and pH; use 6-in-1 weekly for the full picture.

What is the shelf life?

12 months unopened; 6 months once opened.

Why is there no CYA pad?

Hot tubs gain nothing from cyanuric acid stabiliser; CYA is a pool-only parameter.

Hardness saturated?

Use a liquid drop test above 400 ppm; part-drain if it is too high.

Alkalinity zero?

Dose alkalinity increaser and retest after 4 hours.

6-in-1 or a photometer?

Strips are colour-match (semi-quantitative); a photometer is digital (quantitative). Strips for daily use, photometer for the service log.

6-in-1 or a liquid kit?

A liquid kit gives finer accuracy on pH and TA; strips are far quicker. Most owners use both.
