Lemon & Lavender Steam & Sauna Essence

A concentrated liquid essence that brings a bright lemon and lavender scent to saunas and steam rooms. A few drops in the ladle bucket water, or dosed through a steam generator essence pump, opens with zesty citrus and settles into a softer herbal-floral finish. It fragrances the cabin only and is not a water treatment.

Sizes and prices

Available in 5L, 10L, 20L.

How to use

  1. Shake the bottle briefly before measuring, as the essence is concentrated.
  2. For a traditional sauna, add a few drops to a capful into the ladle bucket water and stir.
  3. Ladle the scented water onto the hot stones in the usual way to lift the aroma.
  4. For a steam room, dose the essence into the generator's essence pump reservoir as its maker directs.
  5. Because it is concentrated, start with less than you think and adjust upward next time.
  6. Reseal the bottle and store it cool and out of the light between uses.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an essence or a milk?

It is a concentrated liquid essence, not a milk emulsion. You dose it in small amounts diluted into ladle water or a steam generator essence pump.

What does it smell like?

A bright, zesty lemon opening lifted by lavender, which settles into a softer herbal-floral finish as the session goes on.

How do I use it in a sauna?

Shake the bottle, add a few drops to a capful into the ladle bucket water, stir, and ladle it over the hot stones as normal.

Can I drip it straight on the stones?

No. Never use it neat on hot stones or the heater. Always dilute it in bucket water or feed it through an essence pump first.

How is it different from the eucalyptus and jasmine?

Those are milk emulsions with single scent characters. This is a concentrated essence pairing bright lemon with softer lavender.

How much does one dose need?

Very little, since it is a concentrate. A few drops to a capful scents most cabins, so a bottle stretches a long way.

Which size should I pick?

The 5L suits a home sauna, while the 10L and 20L are for busier gym, spa and hotel rooms that dose fragrance more frequently.

Can I set up a subscription?

Yes, you can subscribe so the essence arrives on a regular schedule without needing to reorder each time.

Why dose it so sparingly?

As a concentrate the fragrance is strong, so a small measured amount goes a long way. Overdosing wastes product and can smell too intense.

Does it work with any essence pump?

It suits steam generators fitted with an essence pump. Follow the generator maker's guidance on how to fill and dose the reservoir.

The citrus fades fast, is that normal?

Yes, lighter lemon top notes lift first. Add a small fresh dose partway through the session to keep the lemon present.

I overdid the dose, what now?

Ventilate the cabin briefly and use far less next time. A few drops is plenty for most rooms.

Essence or neat citrus oil on the stones?

Neat citrus oils can scorch and turn acrid on hot stones. A diluted essence keeps the lemon bright and clean with an even release.

Is this added to spa or pool water?

No. It only scents the air of a sauna or steam room and must never go into hot tub, spa or pool water. It is not a water treatment.
